Private initiative and support of the Śródmieście District Council resulted in an interesting project.
Ideas emerge when she looks at ul. Dworcowa. This is how the idea of creating a Weichmann Textile House template was born, which would be assembled and decorated by children during art lessons. Wojciech Zieliński is a teacher by profession. Currently, he is implementing a new project, called Gliwice Mickiewicz Days. Thanks to him and the support of the Śródmieście District Council, signs with a QR code appear in the city space. Reading it redirects you to recordings with poems by Adam Mickiewicz. Currently, you can find 7 such plates in Gliwice. By scanning the QR code, you can hear the Ode to Youth, Invocation, Pani Twardowska, Świteź, To Friends of Muscovites and Stepa Akermańska. One of the first plaques was placed in the Wodna and Basztowa years and in the Melina Gallery. It will not end with seven, however - the action of distributing Mickiewicz's plaques on city streets, in shop windows and galleries, on walls and windowsills, will last until the end of the year, not without reason. This year we are celebrating the 200th anniversary of the first issue of "Ballads and romances". But that's not all - exactly 65 years ago (October 24, 1957) at today's ul. Siemiński, a monument to Adam Mickiewicz, the author of which is Franciszek Strynkiewicz, professor of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, was unveiled, and the sculpture was performed by GZUT in Gliwice.

Wojciech Zieliński knows a lot about the history of those days. He is in possession of several facsimile of posters from that period, which he intends to present soon at a special exhibition devoted to the anniversary of the unveiling of the monument. Together with CK Victoria, he also organized the nationwide comic competition "Miasto - Literatura - Kadr" inspired by the Mickiewicz anniversary, the subject of which was to refer to the works of Horst Bienek, Wolfgang Bittner, Tadeusz Różewicz, Piotr Peter Lachmann, Szczepan Twardoch, Zbigniew Rokita, Wojciech Chmielarz, Adam Zagajewski. , Julian Kornhauser, Wojciech Pszoniak or Krzysztof Siwczyk. Financial support for the QR code plates was provided by the Śródmieście District Council. They were printed by the E-Druk company, and the poems of our poet were voiced by actor Konrad Żygadło, known e.g. from the movies All My Friends Are Dead, 1800 grams and from the 19+ program.
